Community Youth Education Options Ltd
Community Youth Education Options Ltd (CYEO) is a registered Australian charity (ABN 23162243236RR0001) operating Kairos Community College, a Special Assistance School providing alternative education pathways for senior students disengaged from mainstream schooling. Established in 2013, CYEO focuses on delivering tailored education programs to vulnerable youth, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, financially disadvantaged individuals, and those from culturally diverse backgrounds[1][2][4].

History
CYEO emerged from the work of Deception Bay Community Youth Programs (later renamed Younity), which has supported local youth since 1994. Recognizing education as pivotal for breaking cycles of disadvantage, CYEO established Kairos Community College in 2015, initially enrolling 26 students in Deception Bay. A second campus opened in Caloundra in 2020[2][4].

Operations
Kairos Community College serves students in Years 10–12 using its "Ripple Model," a neuroscience-informed approach emphasizing individualized learning, community impact, and mentorship. The program integrates vocational training alongside the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), with 100% of graduates achieving QCE qualifications and most earning additional certificates[2][4]. In 2023, the colleges enrolled 122 students across both campuses[4].

Impact
CYEO targets youth facing systemic barriers, including housing insecurity, family violence, and justice system involvement. Its model prioritizes flexibility in curriculum delivery and wraparound support, aiming to improve post-school outcomes in employment and further education[2][4].

Governance
As a not-for-profit limited company with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, CYEO reports annually on its activities through the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC)[1][4]. Collaboration with local organizations ensures access to apprenticeships, mental health services, and employment support for students[4][5].
