Islamic Society of Gladstone Inc.
The Islamic Society of Gladstone Inc. (ISG) is a nonprofit organization established on 2 August 2012 to serve the Muslim community in Gladstone, Queensland, and surrounding regions. Registered as a charity, it operates under the Islamic Council of Queensland (ICQ) and is affiliated with Muslim Australia, formerly the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC).

Purpose and Activities
The society focuses on addressing spiritual, educational, and community needs for Muslims in Gladstone, Tannum Sands, Boyne Island, Calliope, and Turkey Beach. It organizes religious programs, educational initiatives, and community outreach, including interfaith collaborations with the Gladstone Regional Council. ISG has played a role in local da’wah (proselytizing) efforts, supporting a growing number of converts to Islam in the region.

Infrastructure
ISG aims to establish a permanent Islamic Centre and mosque, the first within a 120-kilometer radius, to serve as a hub for worship and community activities. The project involves purchasing and renovating a building, with fundraising efforts targeting $800,000 AUD. This initiative seeks to unify Gladstone’s culturally diverse Muslim population, which includes professionals and families from various ethnic backgrounds.

Community Engagement
The society actively promotes multiculturalism through events and partnerships, emphasizing social cohesion and religious understanding. Its programs cater to all age groups, including youth activities, Quranic education, and communal celebrations of Islamic festivals.
