Lara Community Centre Inc has provided a constistant place for the community to gather and reset after the trials of 2020 and 2021. The provision of free information in the form of the Lara Happenings has been a constant in the community for over 40 years and did not stop during this time. The provision of free and low cost activities, occasional childcare, access and volunteer programs has continued throughout the reporting period.

Who are we. The Lara Community Centre is a notforprofit organisation which was established in 1982 as a joint project of the Shire of Corio the Lara Progress Association the Lions Club of Lara and other organisations. It continues to facilitate community development and provide opportunities for mutual support and sharing of skills and resources to build a better quality of life for the residents of Lara and the surrounding district. The Lara Community Centre is a Neighbourhood House with the Association of Neighbourhood Houses Learning Centres.
