NDASS runs educational events and purchases materials to achieve the organisation's mission of fostering interest, understanding and career progression in the field of surgery for medical students. These events included a suturing skills night, a Women in Surgery symposium highlighting women in the surgical profession, and multistation Surgical Skills evening which exposed medical students to surgical techniques and capabilities. We also raised awareness and promoted the importance of diversity within the surgical field, hearing from keynote speakers on how diversity enriches the profession and outlining multiple pathways to achieve a career. Our activity was again hampered due to COVID19 restrictions, however, we operated as above within our limited capacity.
