The Vietnamese Catholic Community in SA Inc. currently hosts between 2500 and 3000 active members. On the daily and weekly basis, our members gather for worshiping, socializing and interacting with one another. The Community consists of 4 satellites stretching all over the Adelaide metropolitan areas where their members live. There are about 20 groups including many subgroups and movements. For example, membership of the Elderly group is around 120; the Marriage Enhancement group has nearly 100 couples and the Youth group has more than 300 members. The Community is also running a Vietnamese Ethnic School which consists of about 1000 students and a staff of over 50 volunteers. In summary, our community provides: 1. Spiritual and social help to its members, young and old. 2. Support new migrants, especially the elders who are dependent and require a lot of support, physically and mentally. 3. Provide support for teenagers and young children with youth and social issues. 4. Encourage people to actively participate in community volunteer works particularly the young people. 5. Provide a safe environment to its members and to the local community through activities and facilities.
