The objects of the Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences are: (a) To encourage and promote the advancement of the arts and sciences in Australia and abroad through recognising outstanding achievement and scholarly research and enquiry. (b) To provide educational forums for the discussion of issues of major public policy interest to Australia. (c) To facilitate interaction among disciplines, thereby helping to further those pursuits which benefit Australian society and the broader international community.

The Queensland Academy exists to promote excellence in the arts and sciences to stimulate activity in those areas that lie on the intersection between disciplines and to provide independent scholarship and advice for social and public policy. We aim to promote advances in the arts and sciences and to give a voice to scholars thinkers and social commentators from a wide range of disciplines in furtherance of our mission and aims. Indeed the Academy aspires to be seen as the intellectual heartbeat of the State. New Members We would like to welcome our 51 New Fellows and 3 New Members to the Academy in 2023.
