Positive Life NSW is the public face and voice of people living with HIV in NSW and has been since 1988. We are a community services, consumer advocacy, and health promotion agency that significantly contributes to health outcomes for people living with HIV (PLHIV). Social determinants of health and social welfare issues experienced by people living with and affected by HIV are also addressed through our advocacy, peer support and health promotions activities. Positive Life collaborates and partners with HIV and health agencies to improve the health and quality of life for PLHIV. We do this through evidence based public health education; social policy advocacy; and peer support services. Program examples are: Positive Speakers Bureau; policy representation; campaigns and health promotion; and peer support including peerled discussion groups and social inclusion events. We actively contribute to and run community events, such as, World AIDS Day, Mardi Gras and the Candlelight Vigil.
