We assist the police in search and rescue, particularly when it involves caves or vertical access associated with bush search and rescue. We maintain special equipment which requires maintenance and replacement. We also train cavers in selfrescue so that they don't need help for a small issue.

NSW Cave Rescue Squad facebook Contact us About The NSW Cave Rescue Squad CRS is the only dedicated cave rescue unit in New South Wales and works under the direction of the Police when specialist cave rescue personnel are required. The CRS is an affiliate of the VRA Rescue NSW which supports both general and specialist rescue units such as the CRS. It has legal recognition from the State Rescue Board and NSW Police. In addition to cave rescue the CRS has the capability to respond to other calls for assistance such as bush searches and canyon rescue as required by Police.
