we guide, support and represent marine teachers in NSW secondary schools. we mentor new teachers into the profession. we promote and publicise all aspects of marine teaching. we promote and teach sustainable use of the marine environment. we take an active role in the development and review of syllabuses and policy documents. we disseminate and exchange information and ideas amongst members, using a website, emails, newsletters, regional branch activities and annual conferences. we form alliances, agreements and partnerships with statutory bodies charged with managing the marine environment, to assist teachers in program delivery.

Welcome to the Marine Teachers Association NSW This association plays a vital role in curriculum development the professional development of teachers mentoring young marine teachers and the production of resources for their students. MTANSW also represents their views to the Board of Studies the relevant education authorities statutory bodies and the NSW Government. The MTANSW aims to promote develop and publicise all aspects of marine teaching in NSW. The association has fostered links and developed partnerships with other organisations including Government departments and industry who are also interested in marine education.
