Mill House is a Learn Local Neighbourhood House in Maryborough. We provide a location for the community to make social connections and learn together. We provide free internet access, food security, classes for computer skills, yoga, literacy and numeracy. We have an allabilities social enterprise program around catering and hospitality. We have a vibrant community garden and a fortnightly community lunch. We provide practical assistance to the community daily with things like, applying for energy rebates, learning how to use their smart devices, tax support, developing resumes, employment assistance, learning new skills and opportunities to volunteer. Mill House is a resource in the community and we are an information and referral point. We provide No Interest Loans (NILS) and rental rooms to service providers. We also provide intangible benefits such as community pride and sense of belonging, leadership development, community voice through advocacy, increased personal independence etc.
