Jarjum Centre continued to provide an early childhood program to Aboriginal and disadvantaged children, aged 2 to 5 years of age during 2022. Children who attended this program, had access to early childhood specialists for assessment and onsite therapy, in a culturally safe space to increase school readiness. Our Family worker provided support for all families who required assistance and soft referrals due to complex issues, to increase overall family wellbeing. Our Homework Hub provided educational support for over 20 Aboriginal Primary school aged children for greater participation in the school system. This included access to resources and mentors. Families were also supported to advocate for the needs of the children with teachers and principles, increasing parent confidence. Our Partnership with the Box Ridge Coraki Play group commenced. Local community members were consulted with, and supported to start their own play group, whilst Jarjum Centre focused on building the capacity of Community members to deliver and design their own programs for self determination.
