Welcome to Wat Dhammadharo A Thai Monastery for the Buddhist Community in the Canberra Region Our Monastery Wat Dhammadharo is the first and only Thai Buddhist Monastery in the Australian Capital Territory and since 1992 has been the heart of the ThaiAustralian Buddhist community in the Canberra region. Our Daily Schedule 0800 Morning Chanting 1030 Lunch Offering 1100 Chanting Meditation 1200 Community Lunch 1900 Evening Chanting Meditation Schedule may change if there is a function at the Monastery News Songkran 2025 Photos Auspicious Chanting for HM theKing Our New Temple Precinct Updates on the Buddhavasa Project Set to Open in Early 2026 A fine example of traditional Thai Architecture in Australias multicultural landscape. In 2007 our Monastery began an initiative to build a Buddhavasa Temple complex with Stupa Uposatha Hall Cloister and Multipurpose Hall adjacent to the existing building. This was dedicated to His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand 19272016 on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of His Majestys Ascension to the Throne 2006 and His Majesty the Kings 80th Birthday Anniversary of 2007.
