Prepared and published report, RECIDIVISM: THE WAY FORWARD, to assist ACT community leaders in their aim to reduce recidivism by 25% by 2025. Published the report widely to stakeholders. The report provides 13 recommendations on measures to reduce incarceration, to transform incarceration from punishment to rehabilitation, and to support offenders after release. Engaged with other stakeholders to promote ACCESS TO MEDICARE for prisoners in Australia. This would raise levels of care available to a community with higher health needs (both physical and mental); and would enable prisoners particularly first nations prisoners to access programs that are provided through Medicare. Along with general promotion of prisoner access to information technology and to education, CJC is promoting creative access to MUSIC IN PRISONS. Musical programs have been shown to benefit prisoners' welfare generally, reduce disturbances in prison populations, and lower recidivism, among other benefits.
