North Victorian Buddhist Association

Founded by Venerable Santhindriya Thero, the association established the Daham Niketanaya Buddhist Temple shortly after its inception. Initially formed to serve Melbourne’s growing Buddhist community, the temple became a hub for meditation, religious education, and cultural preservation, particularly for Sri Lankan migrants and broader Australian audiences.

Objectives and Activities

The association's core mission includes:

• Religious education: Offering programs on Buddhist philosophy, meditation practices, and language classes to preserve cultural heritage.
