ARA provides advice, advocacy & practical support to help newly arrived refugees and migrants settle into their new lives in Australia. The Australian Refugee Association (ARA) delivers culturally appropriate settlement support services which aim to empower communities and individuals to actively participate in all aspects of life in Australia. Additionally, ARA provides services to youth from migrant and refugee communities to support their settlement in Australia and increase their confidence and social participation. ARA's services include social support programs, casework, community development and leadership training, migration assistance, community education, family and relationship counselling, cultural support services, parenting programs, employment services, health and disability services, aged care and family safety programs and youth services. ARA also aims to improve awareness of special needs of refugees and other people of concern amongst service providers and within the general community and works to promote and encourage social cohesion and awareness amongst new arrivals and the general community.
