It achieves this by expanding and enhancing the impact of Youth Foyers across Australia. These Foyers provide integrated learning and accommodation settings, offering a comprehensive support structure that combines housing with education, employment, and life skills development.

History

Established in 2008, the Foyer Foundation is modeled after the United Kingdom’s Foyer Federation. It aims to replicate the success of this international model by fostering strategic partnerships with community organizations, philanthropists, and government bodies.

Activities

The organization's core activities include:

• Ensuring Quality Services: The Foyer Foundation implements a voluntary accreditation process to maintain high standards across all Youth Foyers. This process ensures the quality and excellence of service delivery, safeguarding the sustainability and growth of the Foyer model.
• Building Evidence: The foundation works to strengthen the national evidence base supporting the Foyer model, which highlights the effectiveness of integrated service approaches in addressing youth homelessness.
• Advocacy: Foyer Foundation advocates for young people with lived experience of homelessness, emphasizing their perspectives and insights in shaping organizational strategy and governance.
• National Growth: The organization has a bold goal of establishing 50 accredited Youth Foyers by 2030, significantly increasing support for young Australians in need.

Partnerships and Funding

The Foyer Foundation has secured significant partnerships, notably with AFG, which supports the organization’s vision of expanding accredited Foyers nationwide. AFG has committed substantial funding, including an extension of their partnership with a further investment of $600,000, reinforcing the commitment to combating Australia's youth housing crisis.
