AAIMH - Australian Association for Infant Mental Health

We progressed our work to establish and disseminate internationally recognised Competency Standards for those working with infants across Australia. To increase knowledge about infant development we sponsored 200 places at a bargain price to a World Assoc for Infant Mental Health Lecture Series on Infants. We updated publicly available position papers on our website to inform on best practice policy and care for infants (including infants and family violence). We supported those working with infants through training opportunities with national and international speakers and trainers and a national hybrid Conference. We offered scholarships for low income, and early career workers including indigenous. We offered philanthropy grants for research and program development.

Welcome to AAIMH AAIMH is a national organisation of professionals from many fields who work with infants young children and their families. Our mission isto work towards improving professional and community recognition that infancy and early childhood is a critical time for thedevelopment of emotional physical and mental health. AAIMH is affiliated with the World Association for Infant Mental Health WAIMH and contributes to international developments andinitiatives. AAIMH organises regular national conferences as well as workshops and seminars to enhance knowledge about social and emotional developmentin 0 to 3yearolds and develop skills to assist families and communities to build nurturing and strong relationships with their infants andyoung children.
