The Institute of Maritime History (IMH) is dedicated to the inventory, management, and long-term conservation of maritime heritage and cultural resources. IMH is a non-profit organization founded in 1995 with the goal of discovering, developing, and preserving maritime cultural resources for posterity, as well as nurturing a growing interest in maritime history and archaeology.

Weve surveyed and excavated shipwrecks underwater from the air and on land in the US the Caribbean and Europe. Our researchers work in labs and archives as well as in the field. IMH members and volunteers work side by side getting handson experiences.
