Reef Monitoring is a non-profit organization established in 2005 and is headquartered in Clearwater, Florida. The purpose is combine marine scientists and educators with the general public in effort to watch over our invaluable natural and artificial reef To organize a group of marine scientists and educators to monitor the fish and invertebrate populations on the near shore artificial and natural reefs of the Tampa Bay area. These scientific studies will allow these scientists to establish a "base line" of these valuable marine resources in the event they are impacted by either a man-made or natural event in the future. We also involve members of the local diving community in the collection of this scientific data and seek to educate the public on the importance of these valuable underwater communities to our local ecology and the economy of the Tampa Bay area.
