By 1926, Smedley chartered the second club in Anaheim, California. In 1932, Toastmasters International was officially incorporated as a nonprofit organization. Admission of Women

Until 1973, Toastmasters was exclusively male; in that year, the organization began admitting women. This significant change contributed to rapid growth and diversification within the organization.
