The mission of apcap is to bring public and private business leaders, legislators. Health providers and administrators, researchers, federal. State and local health officials into a coordinated cohesive forum to enhence and promote Prostate Cancer awareness, education, research and primary and secondary prevention programs. The goal of this diversified stakeholder group is to implement and evaluate ambitious plans that are designed to eliminate Prostate Cancer as a health threat.

Bei etwa einem von sechs Mnnern wird im Laufe seines Lebens Prostatakrebs diagnostiziert. Das Risiko an Prostatakrebs zu erkranken steigt mit dem Alter mehr als 75 Prozent aller Flle werden bei Mnnern ber 65 Jahren diagnostiziert. Noch hher ist die Rate bei afroamerikanischen Mnnern bei denen die Krankheit ein Jahrzehnt frher auftreten kann als beim Rest der Bevlkerung.
