⭐Artist Spotlight⭐ Meet Clay Lab Member, Aundrea Harris! 🔵How are you a part of Water Street Studios? I'm a claymaker, and have an independent home studio as well. 🔵How did you first get involved with Water Street Studios? I first started taking ceramic classes a few years ago, and signed my kids up. We fell in love from the start. 🔵What is something unique about your art and/or process? I use as many different techniques and mediums as I am able to while using porcelain clay. I incorporate something different into every piece, and I have no uniform sizes, shapes or styles throughout any of my pieces. 🔵What are you working on right now? Or what is something you'd like to start working on soon? I'm currently working on a project with a model i made of my hands, they will be small sculptures that also incorporate metal and wood and a few that will be made into lighting fixtures. 🔵What inspires you as an artist? Turning nothing into something is a huge thing for me. Starting something from scratch, seeing a final outcome of so many different processes. My inspiration comes from events in my life, things that have been hard but also the wonderful moments. I can blend them all into a piece of work that reminds me of where I have been and how far I have come. 🔵What are your favorite things about being a part of Water Street Studios? Water Street Studios has become such an amazing family to me and my own family. There are so many bonds made in this community of artists. To be part of something , and be welcomed and encouraged is a feeling you don't get everywhere. And it spreads throughout the entire studio. Besides the family of us clay makers, you start to know everyone, your specific creative work spills over into all aspects of the Studio, you cross paths and make relationships with people through gallery nights, fundraisers, volunteering for events, and it really starts to feel like a second home. Support from so many different angles within Water Street, really carries over into everyday life, and how you start to view yourself and the people around you. (fb)
