Cloudy skies couldn’t dampen the fun at the 16th Annual ServiceSource Family and Friends Fall Picnic. More than 300 people with significant disabilities brought along family members and caregivers for a cookout, pumpkin painting, raffles, hayrides, and plenty of dancing! This annual event is a labor of love for Pam and Paul Thieberger, who not only host the event, but organize an army of volunteers who make sure everyone has a fantastic day! Many thanks to Jake's Ice Cream and Nothing But Treats for the delicious ice cream and cupcakes; Ned Dwyer of E.J. Dwyer Co., and Steve Cook, Ken Fowler, and Don Matthews of Northeastern Supply for donations of door prizes and giveaways; Big Mo Sounds and Washington Commanders cheerleaders Amy and Caitlyn for keeping everyone dancing; NOVA Selfies Photo Booth who helped folks capture the memories; Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department Station 20; Scouting America National Capital Area Council Troop 1131 for managing parking for the crowd; and many more volunteers who manned the grill, dished up the delicious food, and took care of details large and small.
