State Park Seasonal Update 👇 Most state park campgrounds in the Thumbcoast region are closed, or soon will be. The exception is Algonac State Park, which remains open year-round, with limited amenities. According to the DNR, the state park DAY-USE areas are open throughout the year at Algonac, Port Crescent, Sleeper, and the Petroglyphs Trails and not the carvings enclosure. Some parking lots may close due to frost laws, but visitors can still park outside the park and enjoy the area on foot. Note: Port Crescent State Park Day-Use Area is also a designated Dark Sky Preserve, with portions of the park open all night and accessible year-round for stargazing.
