Throughout November, The Trylon Cinema will be featuring films by Japanese director, Nobuhiko Obayashi. All of the films in the series, "The Untethered Visions of Nobuhiko Obayashi", are in Japanese with English Subtitles - making this the perfect series for fans of film and Japan alike. (fb)

The Minneapolis South Rotary Club is looking for families to host Japanese student, Suke, during the 2025-2026 school year. Being a host family not only greatly helps the students, but is also a way to learn about Japanese culture and language! See the below information and video for more details: "Be a Rotary Youth Exchange Host family! This unique opportunity allows families to share their culture and traditions while learning about another country’s customs and way of life. Host Suke from either December - mid-March 2026 or mid-March - June 2026 (2 host families needed). Suke is from Osaka, Japan and loves music, especially American rock music. He is learning to play guitar and piano at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. He has a serious allergy to cats and must be in a cat free home. Curious what it’s like to be a host family?
