Adventures in fundraising! While walking the Three Oaks Recreation Center path today to begin planning our Dolly Parton themed walk-a-thon slated for Saturday, October 4, our board members @beckykirchner, Re/Max Plaza and Kim Przybysz, Mercy Health, along with our CEO, Jamie Maravich, heard a gentleman named Tom call out to them for help. He was fishing and hooked a scared and snapping cormorant bird that he was struggling to free. Becky lent her coat to cover the bird and helped hold it still while Tom removed the hook. The bird 🦅 happily flew to the middle of the lake and seemed to be in good shape. Together, we can make a difference.
