Summer at OWP is about having fun while getting to know and understand each other! For the past two weeks, our journey took us to Ecuador, through vibrant art, traditional food like bolos de chocolate, Llapingachos, refreshing Come y Bebe, and stories from our wonderful teachers. We painted, cooked, danced, and explored right from our classrooms and garden. We also learned about indigenous communities and moved with traditional styles of Ecuadorian dance with the help of Yadira. Now, this week and next, we’re exploring and engaging with the diverse cultures of El Salvador -- without ever leaving Brooklyn! With the help and generosity of Cindy, Sonia, and Chelsea, we’ll be learning, exploring, and celebrating the people, food, music, art, and stories of this beautiful country together. ❤️ ¡El verano en OWP se trata de divertirnos mientras nos conocemos y nos comprendemos mejor entre todos! Durante las últimas dos semanas, nuestro viaje nos llevó a Ecuador, a través de su arte, comida tradicional como los bolos de chocolate, los llapingachos o el refrescante Come y Bebe, y de las historias de nuestras maravillosas maestras Stefany, Keyla y Yadira. Pintamos, cocinamos, bailamos y exploramos en nuestras aulas de dentrto y ded fuera, incluyendo nuestra huerta. También aprendimos sobre comunidades indígenas y estilos tradicionales de danza ecuatoriana con la ayuda de Yadira. Durante esta semana y la próxima, estamos explorando y conectando con las diversas culturas de El Salvador —¡sin salir de Brooklyn!
