There is so much to celebrate in this letter from Haiti. Graduations, celebrations, God working in Haiti. Thank you for your support. July 22, 2025 Dear Board Members of the Haiti Lutheran Mission Society (HLMS), Donors and Supporters, Brothers and Sisters, Heartfelt greetings in the name of our God’s perfect Lamb, Jesus Christ whose blood washed away all our sins and gave us eternal life. We pray this letter finds you well as the God we serve walks beside us. Regardless of the daily challenges we may face, our faith in the Holy One continues to flourish. Thanks be to our God for the means of grace in which we find comfort, assurance and strength that allows us to continue to fight the good fight while awaiting for His Second Coming. By God’s grace, we have come to the end of the academic school year, 2024-2025 and look forward to next year. Our students are on summer break until September. Despite the unrest and current social conditions in the country, we were able to successfully finish the school year with an attendance of 500 students. State examinations for both middle and high school (9th and 12th grades) have already taken place. Sixty-three (63) students have been participating. We are confident that they will all succeed. As time wait for no one, we have already initiated some plans for the academic school year, 2025-2026. Regarding the church ministry, things are good. June 22 was our annual celebration, the 29th anniversary of the sanctuary. The Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, continues to take care of His sheep by feeding them with the Word and the Sacraments. Challenges are there, of course, but our Lord has promised us His indefectible presence amid the troubles and will turn our mourning into delight. We want to thank each of you for your prayers, your words of encouragement, your continuing support and donations. As we look forward to the new academic school year 2025-2026 and the challenges it may bring, we do our best to assist insolvent with school supplies and uniforms. Anything you can do to assist in this effort will be very much appreciated. May God bless each of us so that we continue to serve Him and make a difference in the lives of those entrusted to our care!
