The koa, the 'ōhi'a, the precious sandalwood— Ancient guardians returning home, Guided by those who understand That to heal the land is to heal ourselves. 🌺 A Gift from the Heart of Hawaii 🌺 Miss Hawaii @emalia.dalire and Miss Hawaii Teen @anyateruya are nurturing something truly special – 104 precious legacy trees were gifted to pageant contestants from across all 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico. @misshawaiiorg Ma'o Hau Hele, Hawaii's endangered state flower. Each delicate yellow hibiscus represents more than just Hawaii's natural beauty. These remarkable flowers exist nowhere else on Earth, yet they're disappearing from our islands due to habitat loss. By growing and sharing these endemic treasures, our Hawaii representatives are spreading both aloha and awareness. There's something deeply moving about watching these young women tend to seedlings that mirror their own journey – delicate yet resilient, unique yet connected to something larger than themselves. Each tree they nurture carries the mana of Hawaii and the hope for preservation of our island's irreplaceable heritage. When contestants from Maine to Alaska receive their legacy tree, they'll hold a piece of Hawaii literally rooted.
