Dear Kier’s Kidz Family: We want to congratulate the members of Kier’s Kidz at Williams College and the Williams College students who donated their stem cell swabs to DKMS during the last four years. One of these donors' stem cells matched a cancer patient in need of a match. Once invited, the student donated a batch of his stem cells through a simple blood collection process to the person in need. The hospital that was treating this sick person did a stem cell transplant for the ill person. The Great News: the stem cell transplant worked, and the patient is now cancer-free!!! That patient has a new lease on life. That donor lives with the knowledge that they saved a person’s life. Kier would be so happy. Modern medicine can be awesome. People are awesome. Congratulations to the members of Kier’s Kidz at Williams for making this life-saving process possible. Your work has helped save a life.
