Enjoy a photo / video timelapse of the transit of Titan, a moon of Titan, casting a shadow on the surface of Saturn this morning. The moon appears in the top left. Photo taken by our observatory director, Lee Keith, from a members watch party at the MAS at 4am on A-scope and #zwo planetary camera on our 12.5" f/8.86 scope for 2913mm focal length. If you're up early this week and have a scope trained on Saturn this July 2, at 239am you'll have a shot at seeing Titan begin a transit across a Saturn with rings us, nearly facing head on. Can't see it that early? No worries, you'll have a few more opportunities at progressively earlier times in the next few months. Telescopes will be required for this event. (fb)
