This time last month, we welcomed students from TASK (Traditional Arts School of Kyoto) together with Miki and Hana, as part of Five Senses Foundation’s annual cultural exchange program led by Akemi Sagawa. The first few days were packed with: 🎨 A visit to artist Yuri Kinoshita 🏠 Warm dinners with wonderful host families 🏛️ A visit to the Consulate-General of Japan 🍔 First burger in America at Asadero Ballard 🛍️ Shopping at local shops 🍫 Frans Chocolate 🛒 Strolling Pike Place Market A fun and full start to the week! Our Mission Five Senses Foundation FSF supports preserves and celebrates traditional Japanese arts with a larger mission of inspiring people especially youth to live harmoniously with nature. Student Cultural Exchange In 2023 the Five Senses Foundation proudly welcomed our first Japanese traditional arts students to Seattletwo skilled young artisans from Japan. During their weeklong stay they immersed themselves in the vibrant culture of the Seattle and Portland regions connecting with diverse communities and exploring a rich array of people and places.
