The American Legion’s #BeTheOne veteran #suicideprevention program will be on full display this weekend during a membership outreach effort in The American Legion, Department of California. La Mesa American Legion Post 282 in the state’s District 22 will serve as the base for the effort, which will take place from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Friday to Sunday. In addition to promoting Be the One, the weekend will provide area veterans to receive free assistance with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs benefits claims, learn about American Legion programs and advocacy, and take part in #BuddyChecks.
