Starting October 1, the City of Minneapolis will be using traffic safety cameras to enforce speed limits at five initial locations. The traffic camera safety pilot program is a key part of the City’s Vision Zero initiative to eliminate traffic deaths and severe injuries on Minneapolis streets. The pilot is the result of legislation from the state of Minnesota. The state law addresses issues of fairness, equity, privacy, and trust. See the map to make note of the locations.
