(Scott Shindledecker/The Western News) By The Western News | May 27, 2025 7:00 AM Birds of Prey Northwest will be bringing an assortment of live hawks, owls, eagles and falcons for viewing at Libby Dam Saturday, May 31. The Visitor Center will open at 9:30 a.m. and the first show with the birds will be at 10 am. The second show is at 11:30 a.m. The Visitor Center will remain open until 6 p.m. and there will be a couple of craft activities available, including making a pinecone owl and dissecting an owl pellet. There won't be any tours of the dam available that day. Tours of Libby Dam will be available during June, July and August. Libby Dam Tour schedule for Summer of 2025: Monday-Saturday: 10 a.m. and 4 p.m: Top of Dam. Sunday: 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m: Powerhouse and Generators. All tours require signup in the Visitor Center at least 15 minutes prior to tour start time with photo ID (driver’s license, passport) for those over 18 years of age. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tour size is limited for safety and security. Tours may be cancelled at any time. Please call ahead to verify tour times, as there are three big construction projects going on and tours may be cancelled at any time.
