The Mobile Kitchen Classroom empowers high school students to become food citizens, actively contributing to a healthy and sustainable food culture. A high school course connecting food & health, food & environment, and food & power—mobilizing young adults to become empowered food advocates. SHFT Mobile Kitchen Classroom is dedicated to creating experiential education opportunities for high school students in New York City around the topics of food, health, and sustainability. We do this primarily by offering hands-on gardening and cooking classes that teach essential life skills while encouraging participants to consider how their food choices relate to broader issues of personal, social, and environmental health
