AID Atlanta, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services related to HIV/AIDS. Established in 1982, it has evolved into the most comprehensive AIDS service organization in the Southeast.

History and Mission

AID Atlanta was founded in response to the devastating impact of HIV/AIDS on the Atlanta community. Despite initial societal fear and bigotry, its founders volunteered their time to provide support and education. Over time, the organization has expanded its services to engage Black and Latino populations, reflecting the diverse needs of the community. The mission of AID Atlanta is to reduce new HIV infections and improve the quality of life of its members and the broader community by addressing barriers and fostering community support.

Services

AID Atlanta offers a wide range of services, including:

• HIV Medical Care: Providing primary healthcare services focused on HIV.
• HIV/STD Screening: Facilitating access to testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
• PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) Therapy: Offering preventive treatment for individuals at risk of HIV exposure.
• Community HIV Prevention Programs: Implementing initiatives aimed at reducing HIV transmission through education and outreach.
• Linkage Services: Assisting newly diagnosed individuals in accessing necessary care and support.
• Case Management: Coordinating comprehensive support services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
