On Monday, September 15th, Note in the Pocket launched the inaugural National Clothing Insecurity Awareness Day. Fifty-three clothing insecurity programs from 41 states across the nation participated to highlight clothing insecurity as a critical issue hiding in plain sight. Each program recognized the day in unique ways and generated a considerable amount of inspiring buzz. From mayoral proclamations to TV and print news to social media posts galore, these programs linked arms virtually to ensure that clothing insecurity remains in the shadows no more. Together we reached thousands of individuals across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn with nearly 60 shares that we know of. We even made the news in Kansas and EducationNC published an article promoting the day. And these are just the special highlights we know about!
