Monticello Railway Museum WELCOME ABOARD. Welcome to the Monticello Railway Museum a nonprofit allvolunteer organization in central Illinois with an operational railroad and yard open to the public. For the 2025 season we will be offeringtrain rideson Saturdays and Sundays from May 3 through October 5 as well as a number ofspecial eventsthroughout the year. The Museum exhibits and grounds are open from 1030 AM to 330 PM when the weekend trains are running.
