Welcome To The Ohio Wetlands Association Our Mission Ohio Wetlands Association is dedicated to the protection restoration and enjoyment of Ohios wetlands and associated ecosystems through sciencebased programs education and advocacy. Learn More What is A Wetland. For regulatory purposes in the United States under the Clean Water Act the term wetlands means those areas that are inundated or saturated by surface or groundwater at a frequency and duration sufficient to support and that under normal circumstances do support a prevalence of vegetation typically adapted for life in saturated soil conditions. Our Objective Through handson restoration projects and communityengagement programs we actively bolster local involvement in conservation efforts fostering a deeper connection between Ohioans and the wetlands that are crucial for biodiversity and flood mitigation.
