Wildlife Welfare Inc. offers training and support for individuals looking to become licensed rehabilitators and work to give injured wildlife another chance. We can help provide you with the knowledge needed to care for these animals and a network of friends who love wildlife as much as you do. We take inquiries from new volunteers year-round, but we currently have an influx of orphaned squirrel babies coming in that are at a suitable developmental age to train new mentees. 🐿️From Rescue to Release — Roy’s Story ✨🐿️ Meet Roy, a tiny squirrel with a huge will to live. When he came to our amazing friends at Animal Emergency Hosital and Urgent Care on Vick Ave, he had been attacked by a cat and suffered a broken femur. His odds were stacked against him as he was transfered into the care of Stefanie, our rehabber in Wendell NC. With her dedicated care and lots of patience, and a whole lot of love, Roy made a full recovery and was given a second chance at life in the wild. This video captures Roy’s journey — from those first fragile days to the joyful moment he leapt back into the trees where he belongs. 💚🌳 Wildlife rehabilitation is hard work. It’s messy, emotional, and often done behind the scenes. But the reward? It’s in every paw that takes its first step again, every wing that flies free, every animal that gets to go home.
