Isabelle Bonten has played Violin in OYO for the past ten years. After graduation, Isabella plans to pursue a double major in violin performance and music education at the University of Michigan. In addition to music, she is also passionate about school, especially math. She plans to pursue a math minor while in college. Isabella also loves being outside and going on long walks with her dog, Roo. She enjoys horseback riding, swing nature, and reading on the porch. Isabella’s favorite memory in OYO is performing Sibelius with the Symphony orchestra this past January. She had spent many years when she was younger watching the advanced soloists, and found it was very gratifying to go from the inspired to the one who inspires others. (fb)

The final concert of OYO's 50th season will be held this Thursday, May 1st, 6:30pm, at the Seligman Performing Arts Center. Preparations have been underway for weeks as students rehearsed works by Copland, Gershwin, Newbold, Atwell, and the world premiere of Elemental Powers, by Catherine McMichael. The students have been privileged to work with Mrs. McMichael this month in preparation for this week's performance. Last week, everyone got to wear their commemorative Elemental Powers T-shirts!
