The City of Elkins is seeking community input to select the perfect name for Bunch Park's exciting new project! The Alliance has been honored to partner with the City of Elkins to help restore the prairie near Bunch Park. With continuing support from the city, the community, and the Alliance, the Parks and Recreation Committee has been working hard to create a space that will provide: -A thriving habitat for wildlife and pollinators -Native plants that stabilize soil and safeguard the water quality of the White River, which runs along the prairie and Bunch Park -An outdoor learning lab for schools to use -Scenic walks for the community and visitors along mown paths with beautiful views of the river We look forward to watching this project develop and positively impact our community. The 4th Annual West Fork Clean-up took place on March 30th at Riverside Park. Volunteers cleaned up litter throughout the West Fork community. 65 volunteers removed 2,240 lbs of trash from the area, including 13 tires! This was followed by a celebration with food, live music, and raffle prizes at the park. Thanks to event organizer Mollie Vaughn for all her hard work creating this event!
