EYE FOUNDATION OF AMERICA (EFA) PROVIDES MEDICAL EYE CARE AND TREATMENT THAT IS BOTH AFFORDABLE AND ACCESSIBLE TO ALL ON EQUAL TERMS, WITH THE GOAL OF ELIMINATING AVOIDABLE BLINDNESS, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. EFA'S MISSION IS TO GO WHERE THE NEEED IS GREATEST; OFTEN RURAL AND REMOTE AREAS OF DEVELOPING COUNTRIES WHERE THERE IS NO MEDICAL CARE OR WHERE THE COST OF THE CARE IS PROHIBITIVE.

The Story BehindEye Foundation of America EFAs mission is to reach the areas where the need is most urgent particularly in rural and remote regions of developing countries. These are places where access to medical care is either nonexistent or far out of reach due to high costs. By focusing on these underserved communities EFA strives to provide vital healthcare services to those who would otherwise have no access to the treatment and support they desperately need. Globally 1 billion people are struggling with a vision impairmentthat can be prevented or has not yet been addressed.
