Non-profit patient organization. The mission of Americans for Safe Access Foundation (ASA) is to ensure safe and legal access to cannabis (marijuana) for therapeutic use and research. Founded in 2002, ASA is a patient advocacy organization that serves as a vehicle for medical cannabis stakeholders to engage in projects and programs that fill knowledge, policy, and regulatory gaps needed to integrate cannabis therapeutics into the U.S. healthcare infrastructure. ASA works to overcome political, social, academic, and legal barriers by creating and advocating for policies that improve access to medical cannabis for patients and researchers.
