A lot of young people face tough challenges that can make it hard to picture a bright future. For Jeanna, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County became a place to grow, lead, and dream big. From being a junior staff member and volunteer to an active Club member for six years, she gained the confidence and skills to chase her goals. Earlier this year, Jeanna proudly represented our community as the 2025 Youth of the Year at the state competition in Tallahassee. Now she’s a first-generation college student at the University of Miami — living proof that with support and opportunity, anything is possible. We’d like to thank the @IndianRiverCounty Board of County Commissioners for allocating funds through the Children’s Services Advisory Committee (CSAC) to support programs like ours. Ten lucky members are taking part in a five-part Saturday sailing camp just for the Vero Beach Boys & Girls Club, thanks to the @ysfcommunitysailing This past Saturday, these junior sailors learned to tie knots, identify parts of the boat, and operate a tiller. After putting on life jackets, they headed out on the water and practiced how to right a boat using the daggerboard to create leverage and flip the hull upright.
