Over the last few weeks, our leadership team had the opportunity to meet and interact with other non-profits from around the country. These encounters have added perspective and sparked great conversations about the role of non-profits – how they are powerful instruments of economic opportunity, strengthening communities while equipping individuals to build brighter futures. As noted in this article, non-profits “create work opportunities for millions of individuals above and beyond the millions they employ directly… [They] also provide job training and placement services for people who would otherwise be unemployed or underemployed.” This is exactly what we’re committed to doing at Connections to Success: helping individuals gain the tools, training, and support to achieve lasting economic independence.
