Welcome to the Kansas Division for Early Childhood Promoting highquality learning by connecting practice policy and research We are here to promote policies and advances evidencebased practices that support families and enhance the optimal development of young children 08 who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities. We are the professional home of early interventionists early childhood special educators related services personnel and families of young children who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities in Kansas. The Kansas Division for Early Childhood KDEC promotes the education of young children with developmental delays and disabilities and encourages and promotes professional growth and research as a means of better understanding the unique needs related to young exceptional children. KDEC is a subdivision for the Division for Early Childhood DEC of the Council for Exceptional Children CEC which is the largest international professional organization dedicated to supporting families and young children who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities.
