What are families saying about Kids First services? In Kids First, CVIC's supervised visitation and exchange program, safety is the number one priority. Most families utilizing Kids First are court-ordered for supervision during custody visitations and exchanges, though some come to us outside of that process simply to avoid having contact between custodial adults. At our Kids First appointments, the beginning and end arrival time of custodial adults is staggered, and different entrances are used by each party to ensure there is no overlap or contact. Youth are also supervised by a staff member throughout their visits while they play, read, snack and spend time with their non-custodial adult. Supervised visitation and exchange are delicate processes that take trust, flexibility, and perseverance, and we are thrilled to hear we're adding so much safety to events that can sometimes feel scary, overwhelming and tense.
