There is nothing humane about halal slaughter. Slaughter, by any name, means taking the life of someone who didn’t want to die. Halal slaughter demands that the animal be fully conscious when their throat is cut, their blood draining while their heart is still beating. Some people think this is a “kinder” or more respectful method, but that’s a damn lie. The reality? The animal thrashes, screams out, and fights for their life in sheer terror.
